Spring Fever.

Something is Hiding in Here has released Spring Fever, their very limited line of bow ties. If you're interested in any of the ties, act quickly as there are only 10 available in each of the six styles. 'Park' is today's featured tie and also happens to be my personal favorite. Other available styles include Garden, Field, Farm, Greenhouse and Lake. If you're having outdoor wedding and aren't afraid of a little color, I think your groom's attire may benefit greatly from one of these little guys!

To my real life version of Dylan McKay.

via Dismount Creative
Read dramatically:

Ian-

When I was five years old, Dylan McKay was it. He hung the moon and parted the seas and was everything right in my world. Over the years/seasons of 90210, I grew to know he was the one I was destined to love. He was the bad boy who rode a black motorcycle, wore a leather jacket,  had sideburns and a heart of gold. You remember him. And then in 2008, you came along, the embodiment of Dylan McKay with a little touch of Dr. Dolittle. Lets face it, you are my Dylan and I am your Brenda.
See! It's us.

Essentially I ordered you when I was five years old. How is that for controlling the universe, Sucka? What I'm trying to say is that I love you and as long as you always act like Dylan McKay, it's safe to say I always will. Happy Valentines Day, my Boy. I made a reservation for us at the Peach Pit.

25 Reason Why I Love You

1. You think I'm cute, even when I look like I've just been trampled by a herd of elephants. That's love.
2. You know to pet my head when I'm sick
3. I know if I asked you to, you would take me to that O-Town reunion concert this year...and you would pretend to hate every moment of it. A small part of you would love it and we would make that 'our little secret'.
4. You kiss me on the head at least four times before bed.
5. You call Lola your 'princess'.
6. You'll watch a girly movie with me and even pretend to enjoy it.
7. Our mutual love and infatuation for Bryan Adams.
8. You call me 'Squishy Face-Button Nose'.
9. "Don't mind the red spot. It's just a sugar cookie sprinkle."
10. Our mutual love and respect for the wonderful institution of Target, the color white and cheese.

11. Your obsessive addiction to beef jerky and Red Hot.
12. I can get you to try anything (Fritos and Fluff) even though you know it's going to be disgusting.
13. You have really pretty forearms. (You didn't really think I'd forget them, did you?)
14. You let me call you 'Bieber'. I think you secretly like the weird nicknames I give you.
15. You'll sing 'I Will Always Love You' ALMOST every time I request it.
16. The way you laughed like you'd never heard anything funnier then you heard me say "the cow jumped over the moon, blue ice cream, applesauce. HONK."
17. Your laugh.
18. Your Jersey Shore commentary.
19. In one hour I can call you into the bedroom ten times to say 'Look at what Lola is doing' and you don't appear to be annoyed.
20. You'll rub my back for a couple minutes with  minimal pleading on my part.

21. The FACT that you are Dr. Dolittle.
22. Our honey mustard chicken nights. You know I'd give up a kidney for that little nugget of chicken.
23. You're not afraid to tell me when I'm being a pain in the ass.
24. You're boy pretty. And not that sissy boy pretty, the 'roll out of bed and put a black shirt on' kind of pretty.
25. You put up with me and love me. For that you deserve a gold star and a high-five. (You can redeem the high-five at any time.)

So there you have it, 25 reasons why I think you're great! Until next year, Happy Valentine's Day! I love you.

DIY : String Lanterns

Instructions via Wednesday Custom Design
What You Need:
  • Big balloon
  • Sharpie
  • Scissors
  • Cotton yarn
  • 4 oz. White school glue
  • 1/2 cup of Corn starch
  • 1/4 cup of Warm water
  • Something to stir with
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Clear fast drying spray paint
  • Hanging lamp cord or fishing line (depending on your desired final product)
  • Container for mixing

Wednesday Custom Design

Directions:

  1.  Blow up a balloon. We kind of suggest not blowing it up to its maximum capacity so that it is rounder.
  2. After the balloon is inflated to it's desired size draw a circle with the sharpie around the balloon knot just large enough to accommodate whatever lighting method you choose. Note: If you are just wanting to hang the balls or use them in a vase then you don't need to leave a hole at all!
  3. You will need to prepare your work area by laying down a tarp. We hung a shower curtain between two chairs and suspended the balloons by it with string so we could have plenty of working room.
  4. Mix corn starch, glue and warm water together until it's not lumpy (too bad getting rid of cellulite isn't this easy).
  5. Smear the petroleum jelly all over your balloon until it is completely coated. Note: We specifically left using rubber gloves out of these instructions. You should get messy. If we were concerned about keeping your hands clean this would have been called the "loveliest, merriest and whirliest DIY" not "messiest, merriest and whirliest DIY".
  6. Besides sharing in good company, it will go much faster if you have a friend help you with this. One of you begin feeding the yarn through the glue mix and handing it off to the other person to drape around the ball.
 7. Tuck the start and end pieces of yarn beneath other pieces of yarn. Begin wrapping the yarn around the balloon vertically at a comfortable tightness, and gradually switch to wrapping horizontally.
8. After your ball has dried for 24 hours, you can pop the balloon! Use a chopstick to knock out any glue crystals that developed between strings.
9.  Spray the ball with clear fast drying spray paint outdoors.
10. Now let there be light, fishing wire from the ceiling, or something pretty to put in a vase!

Nautical Nancy

via Style Me Pretty ; Photography by Garrett Photography
The nautical theme is fresh and crisp, classic, and is ideal on a sunny day by the ocean or a lake. Navy and white is the most traditional nautical color palette, and it remains a great look. If you want to update it a bit or put your own twist on the classic navy and white colors, add in one more color to make it more distinctive. Yellow is a terrific accent for a navy and white nautical theme wedding.
